Poem: Helen
[A Short Poem by The Flannel Teacup]
Snowflakes are sparkling as they fall
Reminding me of a more childish time
Tress are howling in the wind
Much like the wolves pacing under them
Seems to get colder and colder every year
Mountains are whispering your name
Helen, it’s been too long
Life after death – it’s still hard
To wrap my head around
Wishing you were still down the hall
Everything has changed
… but not me missing you
If the only way I can see you is in my dreams
Then by all means – you know
You’re more than welcome
Background: One of the most personal items I’ve ever posted online. Feeling quite vulnerable but at the same time excited. This beautiful poem is dedicated to my Grandma, who I miss everyday with every part of me.
